When crossbreeding the Gascon with the Black Angus, calves are black in color and maintain the advantages and aptitudes of the Gascon breed.
These photos are of crossbred calves, as of October 2014, they are 250 days old. They were born and raised in open range in high desert, Northern Nevada in harsh drought condition and are thriving. They have maintained the hardiness, easy & short calving interval, climate resistant, long walking capacity, feed conversion and other advantages of the Gascon breed.
Similarly, when crossbred with the Red Angus, the resulting calf is red with improved traits from both breeds.
